Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the Hong Kong’s Privacy & Data Governance program in accordance with Group Policies as well as regulatory guidance, industry best practices, and other defined requirements;

  • Work with senior stakeholders to define policy, standards and controls, provide advisory and execute oversight for privacy/data protection, confidentiality, information sharing, disclosure and cross-jurisdictional transfer requirements;

  • Develop and maintain the relationships with Privacy/data protection regulators;

  • Track and support resolution of Privacy & Data Governance issues and breaches;

  • Establish and manage metrics to demonstrate effectiveness of Privacy & Data Governance program.

  • Ensure the bank’s data loss monitoring platform(s) is continuously aligned to the bank’s risk appetite on data

    loss management

  • Be a subject matter expert in the area of data loss management, including promoting education and

    awareness, and ensuring the bank data loss program is kept updated to the latest industry standards to

    mitigate emerging risk

  • Oversee compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO)

  Skills and attributes required

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Hong Kong PDPO. Familiarity with equivalent regulation in other jurisdiction a plus

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated work experience

  • Sound knowledge of banking and other financial services products

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data loss monitoring platforms e.g. Symantec DLP (Vontu)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good stakeholder management
